Deductr privacy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 29, 2026
Deductr is designed to organize expense records for review. Merchant names, amounts, dates, categories, province, GST/HST settings, profile answers, and receipt details are treated as financial records.
Account information
Deductr uses Apple or Google sign-in to identify the signed-in account. Depending on the provider and the user's privacy settings, Deductr may receive a name, email address, private relay email address, and account identifier. This information is used for app functionality, account access, subscription support, and deletion requests.
Current storage
Expense records are stored locally on the device. Receipt files are saved in the app's local browser storage using IndexedDB, while receipt metadata such as file name, file type, file size, and attachment status is saved with the related expense record. Receipts are not uploaded to a Deductr backend in this build.
Data use
Records are used to power capture, categorization, review, export, account support, and security. Deductr does not sell personal financial records or use receipt contents for unrelated advertising.
Tracking
Deductr does not use app data to track users across other companies' apps or websites. The app does not include third-party advertising tracking.
Permissions
Camera or photo-library access should be requested only when the user chooses to attach a receipt. Push notifications, contacts, precise location, microphone, and tracking permissions are not part of the app.
Review-first tax output
Deductr can estimate and organize tax fields, but exported records should be reviewed by the user or their tax professional before filing.
Data control
Users can export local records from Settings. The account deletion control deletes the signed-in Deductr account and clears locally stored expense records and receipt files from the device.
